best interpretation of the legend

It's by far my favourite incarnation of Robin Hood. It managed to add the mystical element in a fitting way and gave the characters an unusual amount of depth that they usually lack. My favourite moment in the whole series has to be in "The Sheriff of Nottingham" when the captive de Rainault, gives this wonderfully introspective look to the psychological reasons between the Robin Hood folklore and gives us the causes of his hate for him and his Merry Men. Kudos to Nickolas Grace for delivering those scornful lines of disdain so convincingly.

I could have done without the mystical crap. The tales of Robin Hood never had that stuff. Some scholars tried to interpret the Robin Hood stories as adaptations of earlier mythology, but such notions have been debunked.

Most definitely, it puts all later efforts to shame.

I like the series with Richard Greene.

I disagree.

I've never even heard of this one before.

It was a hit British made show in the mid eighties, bigger than Doctor Who at the time.
