DVD release?

Does anyone know of a DVD release for this series? It was recently (Summer 2004) shown on Book TV, here in Canada and I very much enjoyed it. I've hunted down a copy of a book, that contains transcripts of the shows and it's excellent (if you're interested, it's "Playing Shakespeare" but John Barton, ISBN 0-385-72085-8, from Anchor Books) but I'd love to find a DVD - any ideas?

You can find it on both DVD and VHS, however it is very expensive (approx. $835.00 U.S). At that price, it appears to be geared more for the academic market than the public.

I just saw the episode on 'Irony' on Book TV and, you are right, it is excellent.

In case your interested, you can purchase it here:

one might check the ebay universe. I snagged the complete set (DVD) at a murderously theivesh $41.96 (USD). As mentioned, it runs upwards of $899, but if you are and actor, its tax deductable. baby.

If you're interested in a complete DVD set, let me know. It's $28 with shipping (within the US). Email me at [email protected] with "playing shakespeare" in the subject line.

Do you still have the complete set of Playing Shakespeare on DVD (for $28)? I would love to buy it. My email address is [email protected]. Please let me know and I will send you my mailing address and a check.

Thank you,

This is extremely good news, look forward to that :-)

Though, even the runtime is the same the UK version only comes with three discs (US says four...). Seems they must have skipped all the extra features, what a shame, it sounded good on amazon.com.

I enjoyed it when I first watched it on PBS, and I have just discovered it is available on YouTube.
