This show hasn’t aged too well...

A lot of TV shows from the 70's and 80's still had that vaudeville/stage kind of vibe to them. Even Friends, Seinfeld and Big Bang Theory had that kind of style in terms of acting. Night Court does look cheap though I agree but I like that about it, suits it's style.

NC always had this Looney Tunes type quality to it for me. More jarring today because writing, acting, and production values have changed in the television industry. Harry Stone is Bugs Bunny and Dan Fielding is Wiley Coyote. The rest of the characters are one dimensional in nature. Worked OK during the 1980's but not today.
