They should put this out on DVD...

Okay, so royalties to pay off would be high as hell, but this show is now owned by the Disney company. Do you have ANY idea how many millions upon millions of dollars they generate every year? They could afford it, and people would buy the DVDs. It's not like this was an unpopular show nobody will remember...everybody wants this show put on DVD, everybody is going to buy if it is put out, and the money is generated back towards the company so everybody wins. They're not making anything off it right now with nobody able to see it, so who's that helping?

Yes. But all the live action, tv show and movie sampled clips used - that's what's stopping an official DVD release

I kept reading a good number of reasons why the Season DVDs aren't availble. But I do agree that the DVDs would sell like hot cakes like the other Muppet related tv show DVDs, but when it comes to the usage of copyrighted material then that's another story.

All that stock footage used in practically every episode was one of reasons why I enjoyed this cartoon as a kid.

If it's ever possible to actually release this show on DVD, then I'll definitely buy it, but only if it's uncut, cause there's other certain cartoons on DVD that aren't entirely uncut. And Muppet Babies is only enjoyable if I'm watching all the scenes including the Star Wars related episodes.

A tip for those going insane without a DVD release...

Look for episodes on various video sites and download them off the net using the Zamzar file-conversion site. They'll be saved onto your computer and if you wish, burn 'em to a DVD.

Just a suggestion.

Even IF they were to get the stock footage cleared, Disney would never release all of them. They would release one or two sets and then stop just like they do with everything that isn't currently on the air (i.e. Boy Meets World, 8 Simple Rules, Gargoyles, Duck Tales, Chip n' Dale, Darkwing Duck, etc.)

A little bit off topic but does anybody remember the Power Rangers? Now that Disney owns the rights I thought I woud finally be able to watch them again, but I find out that Disney only released them in the Uk. Their response as to why they weren't released here in the US is because of legal issues, but I sent them a message about the show and they told me it was because of there not being a big enough fan base in the US to warrent a full season release. I wouln't be surprised to see Disney release Muppet Babies in its full uncut season form over in the UK in the near future.

Does anybody remember Power Rangers?? The show was on for 17 years just recently going off air this past year! Disney has been airing "revised" versions of the original MMPR. Versions I like to call bastardized versions. They taken MMPR and pretty much made it the 1960s Batman with comic book style effects for no reason. Disney has no clue what kind of fanbase there is for anything. The MMPR season sets released in Germany sold very well and from what I've been told a lot of the sales came from Americans importing the sets. I bought all 3 seasons of MMPR from Germany and it was well worth it. Sadly, Disney may release some of the episodes now but they will be the edited versions that are currently airing in America instead of the originals aired in the mid 90s. Disney is run by a bunch of morons who don't know anything. If you want season sets of the original MMPR I suggest you import them from Germany download a program called VLC and watch them on your computer. Otherwise don't hold your breath for them to come to America ever.

I hope the show comes out on dvd too, even if they did launch a few episodes at a time like at least my favorite episodes: "Treasure Attic" & "It's Just Pretendo".

Seeing as how Disney now owns Lucasfilm, as well as Marvel and The Muppets, I'd say we're that much closer.
