The Nursery.......A Giant Lab??

Did anyone ever think that the Nursery where the Muppet Babies lived was really just a lab and that there was some experiment going on? It would explain why they never left...not even to go outside in the yard (if there was one). Even though they alluded to going to the dentist, theme park etc., we never saw them actually leave. They rarely even went to other parts of the house except for the kitchen and living room and were afraid of the attic. We never saw the adult's faces except for the two old guys in the balcony. Plus it would explain why you have anthropomorphic animals and other creatures living together when none of the adults appeared to be Muppets. There was also an underlying tone where the babies were afraid of Nanny. Like when Gonzo thought she was going to get rid of him and when the babies imagined some horrible creature and when they came out of their imaginary state it was just Nanny! LOL

Gracious do you have a grotesque mind! The chief theme of the show is the power of imagination. The babies spend most of their time in the nursery because that's where all of their indoor belongings are and therefore the easiest place to act out scenes. I'm sure that the main characters play outside, but that is limited to the times that babysitters are available because Nanny is the primary caregiver and cannot watch seven toddlers running around a yard while tending to a baby on her own. Attics are dark, dusty rooms that make creepy noises and scare many people, and the fact that young children are afraid to enter theirs does not mean that the house that they live in is a sadistic institution in disguise. The Muppets simply misunderstand Nanny's statement about the old chairs since they lack the cognitive ability to realize that a decision to remove one of them from the home would not take place there, or so rapidly and easily. They love their appointed mother. She just happens to occasionally walk in on intense gaming moments.

Of course they go outside and in other rooms of the house.

It's just not filmed

I never understood that was it a daycare and they just called her 'Nanny' it was the only thing I could think of. But she left them all alone most of the time and closed the door? What was she doing?
