Was Susan St James pregnant in 1986? I watched two shows on WE today (found money &the bully episodes). In all of her scenes she seemed to be hiding her stomach such as; sitting down, laying in bed,or wearing a baggy coat.
shareI don't remember which season it was, but I know there was at least one season where she was pregnant. There were even a few episodes where she spent the entire episode in a hospital bed to hide her pregnancy. I think her character was supposed to have hurt her back or broken her leg or something. I think they got pretty inventive in some of the episodes.
shareThat probably was the season. In the found money episode she tripped on a sewing machine box on the basement stairs. The next episode (the bully) she was in the hospital.
shareYes, she was pregnant, but because her character was single, the writers didn't write it into the show. In the flashback episode where Kate and Allie meet again in the movies, she was finally allowed to show her stomach. The writers just decided to make Jane Curtain wear a sympathy belly to fit the script.

shareThank you for the explanation. i'm currently watching the complete series, and I was wondering what was going on with Susan during the 4th season. Not only is she in a hospital bed for 3 complete episodes, then she is entirely absent from another 3 episodes. Now it all makes sense.
