Region 2 already has a remastered DVD of JINC; I looked at Amazon.uk and it was issued in 2005 by ITV. The Region 1 version (A&E 2001) is apparently a really terrible transfer, both video and audio.
Does anybody know when a Region 1 remastered version is due out? At $80 bucks a pop, I would rather get the good set. Thanks.
Or perhaps a blu-ray version now. BUT obviously needs a remaster. Way to washed out on my DVD. I hate to drag out and reconnect my VHS in order watch may old tapes, which in many respects are better then the region 1 DVD's.

Like Brideshead Revisited this was filmed on 16 MM rather than 35 MM film. With that in mind the DVD seems fine to me. Either way I was able to watch and hear it again and that's all I needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone buy it.

I just checked Amazon and they have a region 1 remastered set that says 2015. Probably why my local PBS is showing the series now. They're selling this new set as a promo for $39 whereas amazon has it for $23.
