Leaves a number of unanswered questions

Such as:

1.) Did Hari Kumar ever learn of his (possible) daughter?
2.) Where did Sarah Layton end up? Did she stay in India or go back to England? (or somewhere else)
3.) Did Sarah and Perron ever end up getting together?
4.) Did Hari Kumar ever go back to England?

Anyone else have any unanswered questions?

Those questions all have answers but I'm fairly sure you'll prefer learning them by reading the final novel in the series, 'Staying On' to collecting then en masse in a thread here. If not, I'll hide them in an answer with the spoiler cover..

In the series he learns that Daphne died during childbirth, and that she never married. From this it's clear he understands that Daphne's child could be his or one of the rapists.

2.) Where did Sarah Layton end up? Did she stay in India or go back to England? (or somewhere else)
3.) Did Sarah and Perron ever end up getting together?

Scott wrote a sequel of sorts to "The Raj Quartet" called "Staying On". It involves different characters, but mentions in passing that Sarah and Guy got married, moved to England where Guy was a professor at Cambridge, and they had two kids.

4.) Did Hari Kumar ever go back to England?

I don't know. It seems very unlikely however.

When we last see Hari, he has received Guy's card with contact information and has retained it in plain sight, implying that he is at least thinking of following up. If some lively correspondence were to develop between Hari and Guy -- which is more than just a whimsical possibility -- it becomes possible for Guy to find a way to get Hari to England. Sarah would support it and Guy is a man of connections who can pull strings.

Hari is quite possibly responding by letter to Guy's outreach when we see him at the finale.

Completely agree. It's really a near-brilliantly subtle and excellent end to the series.
