Great Show, Until fat ELI scored the soccer goal

In the very beginning, when the show was primarily a con game between Jason Bateman and David Garrison, it was great. Then the con aspect dwindled (probably too smart for viewers) and it became a basic teen comedy. Bateman's fat friend Eli scores a field goal in a soccer match, and jumps in the air and his pathetic, tubby image freezes as the end credits are shown. The next thing I knew, no more show. Thanks Eli... for nothing.

First of all Eli did not score the winning goal he was a goalie and stopped a penalty shot to win the game.

Second of all the show did not end there. Matthew and Norm continued to scheme against one another after that episode. What really did this show in was when matthew's mother caught him in one of his cons and kept a closer eye on him.

Leave Mr. Eli alone!!!! He makes awesome Rube Goldberg machines!

What have YOU done with YOUR life?

reply

No, the show died when Matthew got caught... but they were probably informed that the show was done (18 eps as opposed to a full order) & they were given the chance to tie up the loose ends

The show was too ahead of its time. The same writers finally brought us Married With Children which lasted.

The problem was Matthew was getting into all kinds of trouble and getting away with it. Scared Christian mothers complained and the show lost its vibe.

It was by far my favorite show since I was Matt's age and just as wily.

Absolutely!

I loved that show....SO MUCH as a 13 year old watching it. It was "Epic"
