Why Was Darlanne Fluegel Replaced?

**SPOILER ALERT**

It seemed to me that one of the other minor characters could have been killed off. Does anyone know what was behind the decision process to replace her mid seventh season?

I heard her and Fred Dryer disagreed on some things an that they didn't really like eachother.

That is a shame because Lauren Hill just did not have the charisma of Darlanne Fluegel.

Still, the series was entertaining in it's seventh season.

Thanks for the info, beverlyhillscopseries.

It's true that Lauren Lane seemed as vibrant as a dead fish sometimes but she did okay and I think Fluegel was on there too short of a time. Dryer had a lot of influence and power on Hunter (especially from the 1987-1988 season until its end in April 1991) so to a certain extent he could have the say so to have a character axed or become a bigger part of the show. Remember all them blondes that used to be on the show, Dryer had something to do with them being love interests I bet because in real life he loved blondes!!!

Hmmm...

The way I saw it, the seventh season probably tanked the show. Stepfanie Kramer was a dynamic presence in the series and the charisma between the two were just electric.

Truth be told, I wasn't that infatuated with Darlanne Fluegel but had began to warm up to her presence. The killer of her character in mid season was jarring to say the least. Throwing in the Lauren Lane character and her on screen daughter seemed to slow down the momentum of the show.

It wasn't my intention to insult any fans of the show. I've been following this series all throughout the seven seasons as they have been uploaded on Hulu and it has been a total joy seeing the characters in Hunter's world ( and that includes the beautiful city of Los Angeles, BTW).

When suporting characters are suddenly dumped, it is noticed. I happen to be a fan of Darlanne Fluegel from "To Live and Die in L.A." and am surprised at how little she has on her filmography. So I begin to wonder is the actress has a pattern of creating problems Hollywood powerbrokers.

Lauren Hill? Lauren LANE! Don't mention Darlanne Fluegel and charisma in the same sentence again. She was a piss-poor actress.

She did a red light stop & got shot for her badge that's why she got replaced

They wanted to reboot the show after Stepfanie Kramer left and do something very different, rather than replace her with a similar character. Admirable idea, but Molenski had no chemistry with Hunter and she kind of sat on the screen like a dead fish. Add to that the rumors that she and Dryer didn't get along, and poof, she was gone.
