Mark Wahlberg planning remake

Here is one of the articles: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/a-e-developing-highway-heaven-671674 (I have nothing to do with this link and the information is not mine.)

What do you think, folks?

reply

I think that is a great idea! We need more shows like this on tv.

reply

A remake would be a good idea if it keeps the values of the original show: wholesomeness and godliness.

The chances of that happening with the remake mentioned in that article are nil.

Instead, that remake, if it gets made, will be liberal nutjob propaganda/immoral trash, which promotes evil and ungodliness, just like almost every other Hollywood product that comes out nowadays.

Sorry, but i am far to the left of liberal, as well as being an atheist, and HTH is one of my favorite television shows. One of the reasons being is that it's not at all preachy. In fact rarely does Jonathan reveal to those he helps that he is an angel. And though he carries out the assignments he's given with true impeccability and the utmost humility, he did not ask to be put in the position that he is in, he's doing what is required of him.

Belief or faith in (a) god is NOT a requirement for knowing right from wrong, or for being compassionate. Those things may be achieved through belief and faith in humanity.

Let's hope it doesn't have 30 seconds of spoilers at the start and a two minute opening titles intro.

reply

I'd love to see it. Hope they don't"modernize" it too much

reply

A new show would be nice, but I would prefer a big screen adaptation. I guess it doesn't matter as long as he keeps the long hair.

reply

When you aren't creative, you re-imagine other people's ideas.

reply

I agree with earlier posters that I will give it a try but if it starts lecturing a point of view on controversial issues, I will probably be outta there.

reply

absolutely! I think it is a disgusting idea & totally lazy & unimaginative to try & take someone else's work & think you have the talent to recreate it!! I for one will NEVER ever watch any remakes of highway to heaven!!! Why? because it isn't made by Michael Landon & thus could never have his heart & soul which went into every episode!! he made it what it was!! NO ONE on this earth could ever make highway like he could!!!!!!

reply

would like it if they did we need more shows like this but i fear times have change now and this sort of program may not do as well now i HOPE i am wrong

reply

Atheists like HTH because though they are in denial, they have a God-given conscience.

Tell yourself that if it makes you happy, but all I can say is you're wrong. I think Christians with your attitude find it easy to convince themselves that other people believe in Christian mythology, because they've spent their adult lives convincing themselves that they believe in it.
As an atheist and a rational person, I need no such illusions.
