Show went downhill after paul smith left

That might sound weird as he was only on for about one season. But I found both him and the show very hilarious at the beginning...and it was never the same after he left. Christoper mayer for one thing was a poor replacement. He might have looked somewhat like Paul, but he simply wasn't very funny at all. Then as the cast kept changing over the years, the quality declined. Then after robert hughes went...it was a total bore. What I liked about Paul was his more abrasive style of comedy. All the others had a more play-it-safe approach. Also maybe when a show runs so long...its hard not to miss an original cast member like paul. For me anyway


On a side note..I read that Christopher mayer (The second simon) dated both simone buchanan and Rachael beck during his time on the show. WOW..I guess the Hey dad girls really went for him
