So sad that so many great actor/actress' passing away....

So sad many of the older great actor/actresses are all passing away!

RIP Anton Rodgers who played William Fields in both Fresh Fields and French Fields - we first fell in love with Anton Rodgers in the May to December role that our local PBS aired - he was great to see again as a guest star in Midsomer Murders; Note here that both Julia McKenzie (Hester Fields) and Ann Beach (Sonja) also guest starred in other episodes of Midsomer Murders, but none together.

Ballard Berkeley - {Guy Penrose, Hester's Father} born August 6, 1904; died January 16, 1988 (age 83)

Fanny Rowe - {Nancy Penrose, Hester's Mother} born 26 June 1913; died 31 August 1988 (age 75)

Anton Rodgers - {William Fields} born January 10 1933; died December 1 2007 (age 73)

Daphne Oxenford - {Miss Denham, William's secretary} born October 31, 1919; died December 21, 2012 (age 93)

Yes, sad that a lot of the older Actors/Actresses, are passing away.

Anton Rodgers, was one of my favourite Actors, and Julia McKenzie, is one of my favourite Actresses, Anton and Julia, made a great team in Fresh Fields (one of my favourite 1980's Comedies), I also very much like May to December, in which Anton played Alec Callender.

QueenBeez, have you ever seen the TV Movie, You Can Choose Your Friends (2007), which starred Anton Rodgers and Julia McKenzie (as a married couple), sadly, You Can Choose Your Friends, featured Anton, in his final acting role, before his death (six months after You Can Choose Your Friends, was shown on ITV).

ian-stapleton-775-79089, sadly I have not seen Anton Rodger's final acting role. I'll have to be on the look out for You Can Choose Your Friends.

I wish I could get some of the BBC comedies that I love on DVDs, but some don't come for my Region in the US. We don't get ITV, we get PBS - looking into possibly getting Acorn TV or BBC America, but not sure what "classic British shows" they actually have - must do some sleuthing!
Thanks for letting me know about that movie!
