I was 14/15 when this showed on tv, and my only memory is of a woman coming to the ER with her head stuck between the bars of a bed head.
What other scenes do anyone else remember?

My only Memory ( and I was 8 at the time ) was of a young boy who had jammed an eraser up his nose.

This was a great episode. I think the old guy's name was "Cannonball" Eddie Koslowski. I like when he talks to the female doctor and asks her her birthday, she tells him and he recounts what he did that day in his baseball game. Obviously impressed, she says, "Wow. How do u do that?" He replies, "I lie". lol

I was twelve when this show was on but I remember a couple of episodes--the one with Martha Quinn getting totally dissed by the daughter because she was more interested in George Clooney's character than the VJ from MTV and the one where Jason Alexander comes in with a swollen and bitten tongue and his pretentious significant other was the culprit.

shareThere was one where a husband accidentally shot his wife and it was an exploding bullet - they had to remove it in the ER and hope it didn't explode. There was a little old lady in that episode too that had an asthma attack after thwarting a mugger and they had to move her away from the bullet surgery because of the oxygen.

shareI remember when Elliott Gould fell for this really beautiful blonde woman who came into the emergency room one night. Dr. Sheridan checks her throat and discovers (YIKES!), an Adam's apple! She was a he!
She lets Gould find out for himself that his beauty queen is only superficial. Very hilarious moment!
If it's useless information, chances are I already know it!

How about in the pilot, when George Jefferson (YES! That George Jefferson) gets shot in the ER?
If I remember correctly, the black nurse (can't remember her name) was George Jefferson's niece.
I pray this comes out on DVD! I loved this show!

I remembe watching this show a few times as well. One episode, unsure what it was called. The female nurse I think they call her Nurse Thor or something like that. I faguely remember a guy coming into the E/R for drug or something and she find he was telling them false stories to get the pain drug and she the female nurse says something to the effects: Its not nice to fool mother thor. really liked the show.
Also remember a show we george jefferson made an appearance as one of the receptions uncle or something like that.
What about the episode when the E/R stuff and Mr. Stickley are taken hostage and he and Nurse Thor are bound (I believe) face to face. Nurse Thor comments, "Has anyone ever told you that the top of your head looks like a birds nest?"
There was another episode where a boy is brought in by his religious fanatic parents who won't let the doctors do their thing claiming only God can save him.
There was yet another episode where a young mother (played by Kim Darby) brings her baby in, I don't remember much else.
This is a really old thread...so I don't know if my .02 is worth even that...
I remember an anorexic teenage girl that tried to take her IV out because she was "Full".
I remeber Nurse Thor's husband is never seen, but she talks to him all the time on the phone. The night of her anniversary things keep coming up so she can't go home (he's unemployed) but at the end of the show she puts him on speaker phone and he sings her a song called "Love Handles" (his nickname for her). I only vaguely rememebr one line saying something about not being able to hold onto skinny girls.
And I think it was this show when Maria's dad shows up after 20 years to get to know her. They leave in his limo and she comes back early all depressed. He'd asked her if she liked veal, and she decided he was a real stranger because even her friends knew she liked veal.
I also remember the the kid with the eraser in his nose a little.

I actually have two memories of the show.
The banter between McDonnell and Gould (previously posted) and the child that was brought in by a babysitter (I think) for some kind of illness and after treatment begins the parents show up and demand them to stop because they didn't believe in medical treatment (some sort of religous reason, I think.) I remember being shocked that somebody could not believe in medical treatment and would be willing to let their child die. I'm not sure but I think it ended with the child being given a spinal tap (which was considered testing, not treatment) and not actually having the illness the doctor's suspected (I'm guessing meningitis.)
EDIT: RobertBrad...sorry, I didn't see that you had already posted about the religous fanatics. That is exactly the episode I was thinking about.

lol. I love that bit from the pilot episode! The underage redneck girl is giving birth and she's like "That's not my baby, mama!" and the mom's like, "I am watching it come outta you!".

I remember a scene where the two ex-wives of Howard are in the break room talking about their relationship with each other and with Howard. Karen Black told the other woman "I'm not mad a you. We both loved Howard and lost him." Then she says, "It's HER I'm mad at!" in reference to Dr. Sheridan who happened to be trying to nap in the break room. She rose up from her rest with that statement.
shareOMG...I do remember this show. Not too well now..it was a while ago. But it had the best cast.
ok...I remember very well the "woman" with the Adam's apple. cute!
But the one I remember really well is the one with a young man who was hurt in an accident. Gould's character's son, played by a very young Jonathon Silverman, had dyed his hair blue (I think) and looked kinda 'punk'. Anyway, they were going at each other...you know...like a normal father and son would. But when the young man dies, the doctor and his son have a really emotional moment apologizing to each other. I do remember that. Very touching.
I wish they'd bring it back in syndication. I'd really love to see it again. And I don't think I'm the only one.....

What is was was... Elliott Gould was thinking his son (Silverman) might be gay and on drugs because of the blue hair dye and his new punk style, complete with earring. And when the guy dies in the ER at the end, Silverman says that he knows he looks weird, but it doesn't mean that he's gay. Elliott Gould, simply glad that his son is alive, says "I don't care!" and they hug. Very emotional!
