Yes a perfect song for both Mac Harper and Jon-Erik Hexum!

Does anyone know who sang it? I know that Bonnie Tyler did it originally, but who sang it on the tv show? It sounds a lot like Elizabeth Daily but I can't be sure. Would appreciate it if anyone could let me know. Thanks. :)

You're right! Elizabeth Daily sang the T.V. version of the song.

yep,
i've managed to record it via tv set to recorder as a kid and play it over and over again

now when i watch it again, thanks to you tube, i am amazed how many 80s hits they play in it, and how many 80s hits were created before mid 80s

80s were the best for music industry in the history of music

No. In the US, the best pop music is from the 40s, mostly because of George and Ira Gershwin, and the 60s, mostly because of the Beatles taking musical progressions or algorithms from Classical music (intuitively, not intentionally). I Need A Hero, nonetheless, is a GREAT pop tune that played perfectly to the spirit of this tragic gem of a TV show.
