I remember some years ago watching this series with a premise of children on some trip to a gallery get sucked into this painting. Stuck in this fantasy world of weird creatures, people. It had quite a bleak tone. If I remember rightly at some point a disease is released that will wipe out the whole inhabitants of this place. I can't quite remember too much about it as it has been too long. Anyone who can identify it, will be greatly appreciated.
shareI don't remember a disease, but children do get sucked into a painting of a ship in C.S. Lewis' "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader", which was made into a TV series by, I assume, the BBC, in tandem with the novel "Prince Caspian", in approximately 1989 or 1990.
This was shown on public television in the US as part of a series called "Wonderworks", with the miniseries titled "Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader".
Could you be thinking of that?
Funnily enough the director of Prince Caspian lives round the corner from me. He has a big dragon's head from the prop dept. in his front garden.
He took his son and I to see Maiden back in '95 - the x factor tour with blaze bailey.
