Wolf throwing?


In the scene where Kay is fighting off the wolves in the roman camp, you can clearly see a wolf or wolflike dog being thrown from quite high up, onto the ground in front of him.

Throwing wolves? Not right, I think.

Yeah, in the interview on the DVD I think Renny Rye mentions a few things they wouldn't get away with these days - winching a boat designed for three people (with about eight in it) up a weir in the middle of the night too!

I just watched that section this afternoon. If you look carefully, the 'wolf' is motionless while in 'flight', whereas if a live animal had been thrown, it would have been twisting in mid-air, trying to find its footing. It also doesn't move after it lands, waiting for Kay to stab it with his sword. For those reasons, and the fact that they wouldn't have taken any chances with their lead actors getting hurt, it seems that the wolf in question was a stuffed one.
