Am I missing something with all these unfinished plots?

I notice several different developements that were just completely dropped....here are some....anyone have the answers please respond..

1. Dorsey...i would guess he was too old to continue after season one, but there was no mention of him.

2. no Italian mob influence after season one.

3. the general manager nephew disappeared after season one ( again maybe after that scheme failed she dumped him but there was no mention of him)

4.What happened to the lost love she rekindled at the end of season one ( it seemed they were going to show him to be just using her due to her new found team, but again it was just dropped)

5. Jason Beghe just finished a major push for the girl ( Annie) in an episode in season two, and then the very next episode she was gone and he had a girl name Vicki ( Betty Russell). Again, after that big push, what happened to Annie?

6. Where did Beghe go for the fourth season?

7. (this is just a comment) Why did they have the 60 yard Bulgarian kicker sit-out over a contract dispute 4 games into the season? I know they wanted to use that girl kicker for some drama, but really, why wouldn't he just give himself what he wanted while he was temporary owner? just a thought...

There are more, but these are those that stick , particular the lost love from season one and Annie from season two. You could speculate on most of the other stuff, but these two disappeared just after a bif push.

At first I was frustrated by all the plots and characters that were often dropped with no explanation, but eventually I got used to it. Sometimes things in life are just never resolved and people disappear. There's quite a bit of this that happens in the Sopranos as well.

I will start answering with number 5 since I haven't watched season 1 in almost ten years (since the tango boxed set came out)

5.) Yeah, the disappearance of Annie was quite a let down. Not only did Annie disappear, but her friend who was shot while trying to leave a party that she was at with Jamie Waldron disappeared as well. She was replaced by another girl who was best friends with Vicki. It seemed as if the writers tried to replace the original girls with new ones who kind had similar aspects to them (one blonde, one brunette, one dating Yinessa, one dating Waldron, both are suppose to be best friends) in the hopes that the audience wouldn't miss the originals. Not that Betty Russell wasn't easy on the eyes-she was, but it still sucked that Annie vanished and was replaced.

6.)For a time Jason Beghe was considered the poster boy for Scientology. Right after he was on 1st & Ten he starred in Monkey Shines and it seemed as if his star was on the rise. I believe that he got good reviews for his acting in that film. So, it probably seemed to him that moving on was a natural progression for him. Also, I believe that he had many bit parts in a whole bunch of Tom Cruise movies. On a side note these days he completely renounces Scientology and says that the religion cost him millions of dollars.

7.) Just as you said- for added drama.

1.) When season 2 rolled around most of the original cast was dropped. Dorsey was most likely a casualty of the show moving in a different direction. They should have at least said that he was either traded or retired.

2.) The Italian Mob played an important role during season one. However, they were portrayed as being straight up caricatures of actual mobsters. I think that the show (even though it was always funny and meant to be goofy) dropped them because they were TOO goofy. It's a shame because if that aspect of the show had been taken more seriously it could have been a good addition to the series.

I'll have to watch the series again to in order answer questions 3 and 4.
