live audience?

Was the show recorded in front of a live audience?
Did they show the final result to an audience?
Or is all the laughter fake?

reply

I'm fairly sure it was filmed in front of a live audience but can't that up with any proof sadly. I'm just sure I've heard it mentioned somewhere once or twice.

I saw it live in blackpool once but i doubt it was shown on TV

reply

I once saw a youtube clip with bloopers, and there was an audience reacting to the mistakes.

The BBC have always used live audiences for many years, even today in some sitcoms they are still used.

All the studio scenes were filmed in front of a live audience. The location shoots, (like all sitcoms), were filmed prior to the live night, and then shown to the studio audience on screens during the studio recording, obviously at the points they are going to fit in in the episode.

Kind of weird to specify LIVE audience, as if DEAD audiences were the norm.
