BHO2 moved to Jakarta shortly after Suharto overthrew Sukarno during a period portrayed in this film. Suharto called for the return home of all Indonesians living abroad (including Obama's step-father). In 1967, Lolo Soetoro moved from Hawaii to Jakarta, soon followed by Stanley Ann Dunham and her son Barry. Obama moved back to Hawaii in 1971.
