XTRO - Optimum R2 DVD

Does anyone have the recently released UK Optimum DVD of Xtro? Apparently the only extra on the disc is the theatrical trailer, but what I want to know is does this version contain the scenes of dialogue that are missing from the Image Entertainment R1 DVD?

It does seem a bit stupid though in the original cut, that Rachel and Sam find the gas has been on for days in that country house, yet have a roaring log fire within hours!!

I've been informed that the only extra on the Optimum disc is the theatrical trailer. What I want to know is does the Optimum print feature the dialogue scenes that are missing from the Image R1 SE but were present on the original UK VHS release?

Hi,

Harry here.

There is no sound for the scene of the kids crowding round Rachel at the end as far as I know.

And I don't think you are going to find any extras other than the interview of me jabbering like an idiot, the USA trailer, and a section of behind-the-scenes stills which were on the most recent USA version.

Hope this helps.

In other words, nothing new as far as I know, but who knows - I'm only the director.

Harry

A big thank you from me too Harry, can't get better than hearing from the director of the movie himself.

This was a nice DVD. Even though there was only a trailer for extras, the film's picture quality was (all things considered) pretty good. I hope Optimum give XTRO II and III the same treatment.

In fact, Harry, could you possibly give Optimum a nudge towards doing that? Or maybe ask if they are planning on releasing them anyway? If you could, it would be great seeing as the previous Film 2000 DVD releases were apparently riddled with glitches.

I guess that's a long shot, however. But I live in hope.

Thanks!

I've got the U.S. Image Entertainment Xtro SE DVD, which has Xtro II as a bonus feature. It's well worth buying if you're a fan of the original film.
