I was wondering if anyone knew where this movie was filmed? It looks very familiar to me. It looks like it was close to the 605 freeway in southern ca. Im from whittier ca.Does anyone know?
shareI don't know, but I'm from So Cal too (SGV - right down the road from you) and alot of those neighborhoods looked real familar to me as well. The neighborhood where the TRs go to the yard sale and raid the garages looked alot like Diamond Bar to me.

On the commentary for Suburbia Penelope Spheeris says it was filmed in Downey, Orange County. They nicknamed it "downer".

In Downey just west of the 605 where the 105 Century Freeway now sits. If you exit the 605 and head west towards LAX as you get on the 105 you'll be driving right over where the "TR" house stood.
shareI havent seen this since i was in high school and it was definitely off the 405. before they put in the 105 the gov. took control of the houses where the freeway was going to be installed. these houses sat empty for years. i remember seeing them from the 405 traveling north. I'm pretty sure some of this movie was shot around these empty houses.
