my uncle was in this

he said they had pizza every day on set

Who's your uncle? Would we know his name?

reply

Eddie Deezen

What a coincidence, I just watched a MST3K 1978 film called 'Laserblast' today and Eddie Deezen was in it!

reply

The scene he's in is one of the best in the whole film. The back-and-forth between him and grouchy programmer is perfect. Fantastic comic timing when he grabs the paper out of the grouchy guy's hands. And I'm not the only one who thinks so...

Kudos to your uncle on a great performance. :)

The filming of his scene lasted more than a single day?

YOUR UNCLE IS THE POLISH VAMPIRE IN BURBANK?🤯

That's one way to learn the square root of pie!

You tell your uncle that some of us are really big fans of Spielberg's 1941. Not a Christmas goes by that I don't watch it. Deezen and Murray Hamilton have some of the funniest sequences in the film (and it's amusing to watch Spielberg doing an impression of Deezen on the Making-of doc). Last year I saw Criterion's version of Bob Zemeckis' I Wanna Hold Your Hand which had many of the same talented actors from 1941. Highly enjoyable comic work from Deezen, Wendi Jo Sperber, Nancy Allen, Bobby di Cicco and other young actors from that era.

Jesus yes, 1941 was a great film, and Deezen's performance on the big wheel. Hilarious.
Its going, its going, its going....
