Question ...

I have a small question that I'm sure someone here can answer . In the beginning of the movie when Max goes to the hotel room he asks to see the 13th tape first to view . The guy tells him that "everything is set up in the first two" . Max says "my audience ain't going to see the first two shows" . What exactly does he mean by that ? Thank you in advance for anyone who helps .
