Suzi's insecurity

There's a really nice touch with the depiction of her personality. It's not really necessary to anything about the plot so I appreciate how it just makes her more of a realistic character.

She's talking to Skip on the phone, and he says he'll call her later--eliciting her immediate response "when?" A very needy and counterproductive move there, but you can totally imagine an insecure, inexperienced teenage girl saying something like that.

Suzi also didn't appear to be such a merciless judgmental bitch like the other girl Stacey. Suzi just seemed to follow what she said, but could've been swayed to accept Julie's dating of Randy. In fact, it appeared to me that Stacey was the entire source of Julie's peer pressure problem (aside from the dopey Valley dudes).

Good point. Certainly the other friend wasn't positively disposed toward Tommy after the way he treated her.
