It felt like a bad 1970s porn movie without the sex scenes

The thing that I found so cringe-inducing about this movie is that it felt like one of those super-cheesy 1970s porn films where all the actors were the exact same age but playing different age groups. You know the ones I mean, like where a 26 year old woman would be playing a schoolteacher to "high school students" who were only a year younger than she was. That slumber party scene was so embarrassing, a bunch of grown women pretending to be 14 year olds. The main character sounded mentally challenged precisely because of how old she was playing. She was clearly a grown woman but she was acting like crazy, mixed up high schooler confused about love.

I completely agree with you. What film did he/she/whatever watch?

Did you even watch Valley Girl.. because nothing you wrote made sense. Nothing. It’s a great film with one of the best soundtracks ever.
Almost every person in films, play different ages than their own.
This has to be a troll account..

The actresses playing teens were all around 20 years old and playing 16 year-olds (I'm guessing, based on them taking driving lessons), which is not that much older than a teenager. Many, many movies have 20-somethings playing teens, but these actresses were not that far off.

I think they were all juniors in high school since the final scene was the "junior prom." So 16 years old is about right.

Haha! I think you’re being too harsh on the movie, I found it charming, but it certainly does have an extreme 70’s aesthetic with all the yellow and brown interiors, general 70’s fashion vibe and the dad’s porn moustache.
