Can't belive this film was made a year after I was born and some trivia.

LOL My mom graduated in 81 so she was about the same age as the characters wow how time flies. Anyway I am from Europe so the story or mannerisms are kinda alien to me but I get the basic story of 2 kids from different worlds thing.

I am originally from Germany met my future hubby at UCLA and we both now live and practice medicine in Southern California. My hubby is a film buff and we love classic films or pre-2000 stuff. The US films today are pure trash so for new stuff we basically watch foreign media. Anyway a little trivia:

The exterior of the mall was in Encino or the Valley but its gone or knocked down now. But the interior shots were in the Del Amo mall in Torrance near were we live in Palo's Verdes. Btw Torrance High School was used as the school in 90210.

Also the valley is not really known for "wealthy types" but mainly middle class suburbs. The valley is actually known as the porn capital of the world.

I used to know where the house they used for the party was but forgot. My hubby is a Japanese American fellow who lived in California all his life and knows many film locations of older films and tv shows.

Lastly anyone notice how the valley talk sort of vanished near halfway and near the end nearly gone? Music was great in film too bad films like this are not made anymore. My favorite US film is Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion oh and Real Genius where Debra Foreman and the gal who played Suzi Starred in.
