Goldmisth's passing

I saw the movie ages ago, I was a kid then and I liked it but above all it made me aware of some film composer named Jerry Goldsmith. He's been high up there all the time, among the greatest. Hard to choose a favourite score, undoubtedly Chinatown and why not?, his South American trip in Under Fire. I'm gonna miss this guy.

Jerry Goldsmith's score for Under Fire is certainly among his best. The man was a master. I recently managed to pick up the LP soundtrack (not ever actually seen the movie) from a second hand store in surprisingly great condition. It looked like it was only played once. One of the best investments in an LP I've ever made.

The main title track, "Nicaragua" was also further immortalized by Tarantino in Django Unchained.
