Lightning Did Not Strike Twice!

I looked up the box office profits at boxfofficemojo for both Grease and
Two Of A Kind which both starred John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John.
And now if you look at the overall ticket sales of Grease in 1978, it earned a whopping total of $188,755,690 while having played in 878 theatres. On
the other hand, Two Of A Kind took in a total of just $23,646,952 in 1,278
theatres in 1983. Now the producers of this film had hoped that they would at least try to duplicate the box office success of Grease by pairing Travolta
and Newton-John for the second time and even though the chemistry between
the two leads was excellent, it just failed to repeat the commercial
success of the two stars first teaming in a movie. I remember seeing
this movie in theatres when it first opened and it wasn't very good.
So I blame the weak script and lame production values though not sure
if I would also point the blame at the director John Herzfeld. Though
I liked the soundtrack enough to get the cassette tape and have no
idea if the cd were ever released or not. I do not recommend this
movie even to fans of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John!

I love Olivia, love "Grease,", love "Xanadu"(so bad it's good)of which has become a cult classic. I have to agree, "Two Of a kind" is a bad movie. Not "good bad." It's just a bad film. I saw it in the theaters when it came out. I was 17 and excited to see it.I remember the audience didn't seem to like the movie. I remember it seemed scattered and unfunny. Some comedy scenes seemed forced and awkward. Watching it now, it seems even worse! The acting is bad, the script is poorly written, and the "flash forward, rewind" scenes were painful to watch!!! It's not "cult" movie material at all. That's why it's got a low rating.
