Why?
Why did this movie get such low ratings?
Any thoughts?

The expectations for this movie were great, and it did not deliver.
However, since then so many movies that were so awful have come out since, I believe if this were released today it would seem okay in comparison to say.
Thanks to Rob Schneider, the Wanyans family, Ashton Kutcher et al, this movie now looks pretty decent.
Plus, director John Herzfeld has shown himself to be a half decent direcotr with that Ryan White TV-movie, 2 Days in the Valley, and 15 Minutes (with Robert DeNiro). Apparently he likes making movies with numbers in the title.

I think it was supposed to be the big reunion of John and Olivia. Kind of like "You've Got Mail" for Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. As much as I loved this movie back in the '80's, watching it now is tough. It's not great. The whole God and Angels thing is really dated!
But I'm still a fan, for nostalgia, if nothing else.
It wasn't that bad but I got the impression that there must habe been scenes cut from it because it didn't really make sense.
shareI liked it. Forgotten film but enjoyable. Problem is this film just made for fun. People probably expected something like "Grease". Travolta also made "Staying Alive" in the same year. Another enjoyable film but if we takes it like sequel to "Saturday Night Fever", it becomes worst sequel ever.

What little I did see of this movie (I turned it off), a 4.6 is way too high a score. Maybe you were a kid when you saw it? I hope.
