Who else loves the song 'The Midnight Special'?

And now always connects it with this movie? I know I do.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I was a kid when this movie came out and wasn't versed in the ways of Credence yet, so this was my first exposure to the song. I always think of TZ the movie when I hear it. A good association. :)

I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I was about to go to college when the movie came out, and I, too, was not as versed in the ways of Creedence as I would later become. This was my first exposure to the song also.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Glad to know I wasn't alone in that late discovery!

Love the song, but it's not my favorite CCR song ("Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" is my fave) but it's a good one and I do think of the movie when I hear it now.

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

Agreed Midnight Special will ALWAYS bring Twilight Zone the Movie to mind. Just like Stuck in the Middle will always be a Resevoir Dogs reminder

I agree. One of the best Creedence Clearwater Revival songs (from what I know - not really a big fan). I wouldn't listen to so much Creedence until I heard this song. And the first time I remember hearing it was with the movie. The two are inseparable, I agree. I think about the movie every time I hear the song.

Creedence has been one of my favorite bands most of my life, and I think it's because I got started with "Midnight Special" in this movie when I was just a kid. Now when I'm doing karaoke with friends at the bar, "Midnight Special" is one of my staples.

Last time I was doing the song, we had gone slumming in some old dive bar on the edge of my hometown, and an old feller walks up to me after singing and says, "Young man, I haven't heard that tune in thirty years. It brought back a lot of memories for me when you sang it. I gotta ask, how do you know that one?"

"Twilight Zone, sir," I said.

In Southeast Asia we call this type of thing 'bad karma.'

Another CCR movie related song is Bad Moon Rising. See the iconic werewolf scene from An American Werewolf In London.

"I didn't meen to call you meatloaf Jack"

I love CCR. The Midnight Special & Bad Moon Rising are some of my favorites! Everytime I hear this song, I think about this film. Same with American Werewolf in London with Bad Moon Rising.
