Where'd they find Vic Morrow's head?

His head was cut off and he wasn't sliced through his torso right? I've found two different accounts.

The Vietnamese stand-ins for the actual kid actors in the shot were found playing soccer with it on a field a couple hundred yards away.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

From what I have read the rotor sliced though the left side of his head and right through his neck. The rest of his body was left intact. I'm surprised that no one else was killed. The rotors were 40' long and could have taken out several crew members and even Landis himself. Apparently he came pretty damn close.

Weren't the children in the scene killed too?

I heard or read a while back that his head was found in a stream a few yards away.

I heard Morrow's head was found on the shore moments after Landis found and checked his torso in the flood he was running across. Landis thought he picked up a dummy that fell out of the chopper, because surprisingly there was no blood pouring out and the body felt rubbery, according to Landis. As soon as someone else (might've even been Landis) found Morrow's head on shore, everything turned into a shocking nightmare.

Yeah, sometimes when someone is decapitated or completely cut in half suddenly there is little blood. You can Google images of a lot of road accidents for examples.
