I had a video I recorded of the HBO version when it was first on. For years I played it for new friends...and yes I pretty much memorized it. Then the VCR ate it...completely.
I ordered a DVD version that SAID it was the HBO version, but it was just a transfer of the VHS release. The bastardized version. I really want the original whether Korty thinks it's "official" or not.
Can anyone help me?
It used to be on YouTube, but it was removed. Torrents are probably your best bet now. It was apparently on Comcast VOD from some time in 2011 through early 2012, and used a special cut which retained most of the footage from the uncut version, but with the "clean" dialogue (similar to the Showtime/Cartoon Network version). However, it appears a couple of expletives were not omitted from the VOD version (according to someone on YouTube, who is providing a VERY detailed rundown). In any case, it appears that the Cartoon Network version (which seems to be somewhat more complete than the VHS version) will be the one airing on Turner Classic Movies this coming February. I guess TCM can't always get uncensored movies - let's be grateful that they were able to get this one in any form!
