Does anyone remember this on Cartoon Network?

The only reason I know what this movie is is because Cartoon Network played it on their Cartoon Theater once several years ago. At least, that's what I'm pretty sure happened. Did anybody else catch this when it aired? I'm pretty sure they only aired it once because I never saw it again after that. And CN has a habbit of airing everything a thousand times.

Needless to say, it was the editted version, but I really liked it, and I was really surprised to learn there was a more awesomer more uncut version of it out there.

I saw it too! I'm 16; I was 7 or 8 at the time, but I remember my dad taped it for me because I went to a family party that night. I have no idea where the tape is now, but I remember I loved the movie. I wish I still had it, because I just remembered the title and looked this up. No one I know has ever heard of it!

Yes, I remember that it was on Cartoon Network, but unfortunately I didn't get to see it. You probably won't beleive this, but the whole reason I missed it was that the previews scared my sister, so Mom wouldn't let me watch it. That still ticks me off. I've been searching for it for years, but so far no sign of it at all. If you know where I can buy a copy for $10 or under, please let me know.

That's the entire reason I didn't want to see this. Those previews cheeped me out.

oh my god, me too. I was so scared of the animation.

Yeah man,

I was all about this movie when they showed it on cartoon netrwork. I taped it and everything. I think I was in 6th or 7th grade. I was the only one in my middle school that ever heard of it (small school). I'm 22 now. Where can we get this movie? Amazon has it only on VHS for 45 bucks minimum.

I'm 16 and I remember this animated movie vaguely. I remember seeing this on the Cartoon theater when I was 5 or 6, and I remember enjoying this movie very much. But I didn't know the name, who made it or anything, except for the main characters and one scene where the bear and the tall guy in black are about to be swallowed by ink ( or something like that ).

I could be wrong, but I remember it being on the Cartoon Netwoork Cartoon theatre several times. It was back when they were first making the transition from 60's/70's cartoon vault, to original programming. I'm 18 now, so I was probably in about second or third grade at the time. I only watched it because I recognized Ralph's voice as the voice of Garfield. I'd been trying to remember the name of this movie for years, but none of my friends believed that it even existed.

P.S. Does anyone else that wasn't alive during the 84' HBO release feel kinda jipped that we may never get to see this poignant animation in it's uncut glory?

It came on a lot during the mid-90s on a show called Mr. Spim's Cartoon Theater that I remember seeing as a kid. Cartoon Network stopped airing it several years ago, but they did show it quite a few times.

Do you use BitTorrent at all? It's difficult, but I managed to track down a torrent of a VHS copy of the uncut HBO version. It isn't perfect quality (a few video glitches, nothing severe or longer than half a second) and the credits cut off about 1/2-2/3 of the way through, but the movie is still largely intact if you can locate the torrent.

And Mr. Spims' Cartoon Theatre (later Cartoon Network Cartoon Theatre) was how I was introduced to this movie as well. I watched it based on the previews (and seeing George Lucas' name attached to it) and I loved it! Even if it was the edited version, I still really enjoyed it.

I don't know about Cartoon Network, but I flipped over this movie when HBO showed it in the mid 80s.

I saw it. But only half of it. I was little at the time and we had had curch the next day.

reply

I could swear that I saw it a couple times. Remember when CARTOON network produced and played CARTOONS? Live Action shouldn't invade the ghetto that is all that animation has left. Not if it's going to suck!
