"A native America named Thunder returns home only to find that his ancestral cemetary is being destroyed by construction workers. He trys to put a stop to it, but the law is not only not on his side, but he is banished from town, beaten up, and left for dead. Now he wants his revenge..."

What the *beep* part of this sounds like Rambo, you ass?

reply

ummm everything?

im talking about the book first blood not the *beep* movie.

reply

ah, seeing as this is a movie database and you didn't exactly specify, well you can understand the confusion.

reply

This movie has many similarities to First Blood. Including a Troutman character.

Sleep All Day. Party All Night. It's fun to Be A Vampire.

reply

its a blatant rip-off of First Blood, but its great!

reply

Nothing great about it. It's a poor man's First Blood rip off.

reply

Agreed. It's pretty good.

Yep, this film blatantly copies "First Blood," but fortunately the solid cast, ceaseless breakneck pace, and well-staged exciting action scenes make it a real fun and thrilling ride just the same. Mark Gregory is very likable in the lead, with fine support from Bo Svenson as a hard-nosed sheriff. Nice rousing score and breathtaking expansive cinematography, too. I own this flick on DVD as part of a nifty triple feature along with the sleazy chicks-in-chains romp "Caged Fury" and the trashy biker item "Savage Dawn."

Nobody does W.C. Fields singing "Mama Told Me Not to Come" better than Paul Frees.

Mark Gregory is anything but likable in the lead. He's not sympathetic nor even remotely convincing as either a native American or a tough guy.

that was my initial reaction - but now i do not think "Thunder" is exactly a "First Blood" rip-off. it does have similar theme (but like 'first blood' these are both genuine themes). IMO the only way it could be classed as a rip-off is that it was made just afterwards...and most likely because after 'first blood' the general theme was proven to be a commercial genre.
