Why 'How It All Started' doesn't matter...(Possible Spoilers)

As I watch this film I realize that the original script, with very few "adjustments", could show this same story taking place after a) the arrival of a modern pandemic as devastating as 1918's "Spanish Flu" b)a massive terrorist bio-chemical attack, or even c)the complete evaporation of the Earth's ozone layer.

In other words, while not as spectacular as "The Day After", with its mangled, bloody and blinded survivors crawling through heaps of radioactive rubble, "Testament" remains the more revelant in the light of 21st Century realities.

A couple of observations: the most chilling scene (to me anyway,) occurs quite early, as the trees planted in happier times to honour the birth of each child are ahown as obviously dying.

And I'd also suggest that Hiroshi "finds" the lost Teddy Bear simply because little Scotty has peronally "willed" it to him.....
