Accidently flash?

I decided to look this movie up after watching Robin Williams on Jay Leno.I almost forgot about it,and how funny I used to think it was.Anyways, they were talking about how Robin Williams has only ever appeared nude in two movies, which reminded me of a scene in this movie.I believe he is in a hospital bed,and jumps up or something and you can see his junk.A bunch of us were watching this when we were younger and oddly enough everyone noticed it(not that I wanted to lol).We were watching it on vhs,and it was a long time ago so I could be wrong, but if anyone else noticed it,or has this on video to check it out,and let me know.

reply

Yeah, back in 96 or 97 they were showing it on Encore. My cousin and I were watching it and noticed it too.

Salvatore Lucania must be lookin' down on all of us wit' great pride

reply

I really hate the Internet. Seriously. I didn't get up this morning saying, "Gee, you know what I'd really like to do? I'd like to see the nads 'n' all of Robin Williams before I go to bed tonight." Hard as it may be to believe, it wasn't even on my mind at all.

Then the movie comes on TMC; then I go look up something on Jerry Reed; then I do the irresistible scroll to the bottom of the IMDB page on the film, and I see this thread, and I get to the posts. The posts are dead clear. They do not say something like, "See Natalie Wood in the buff--turns out she was as in-shape as some of the fitness-conscious starlets today!" (too bad she and all the others back then weren't, but anyhow), or "I have a video of a dog who can sing Follow Me Up to Carlow, every verse, and here's the link." Nope. Nothing like that. The thread clearly says "accidental flash"; I know the stars of the film are male, but I read the posts anyway; then I get to the post where it's clearly marked that these are the photos of, and I quote, "balls" and "head."

Now, see, I have good friends who are gay, so I'm not saying this in any way that could be construed as the least bit derogatory; but the fact is that I am decidedly not gay. I am very, very straight. Oh, Lord, am I straight. Like, six kids straight. I have a wife that makes people give me that look like, what the hell is _she_ doing with _you_?--deservedly so--and I couldn't love it more.

So was there ANY chance that I wasn't going to click not one, but both of these links? Of course not. Why would you even ask a question like that? Not a chance in hell. Not a micron of a chance. Zero. Man, did I ever have to see the balls of Robin Williams. There was no way this wasn't going to happen. I can't even tell you how many times this sort of thing has happened. Absolutely something I don't want to see, but morbid and/or inexplicable curiosity drives me to it. Same story, too--plainly labeled, no way do I want to see it, can't wait to see it.

So weird. I remember not all that long ago--really not, only 15 years or so--when if something came up that you wondered about, you'd wait until you could look it up at the library, or you'd realize it's just a mystery that doesn't demand immediate attention, and these things would drop away, and what would be left tended to be what was important. Or, if somebody had a rumor about a "flash" scene, you'd go rent the VHS, maybe, if you remembered it by the next time you went to the video store. Now all you gotta do is just walk across the room, get into this ridiculous clicky-chain of "hey, that looks interesting," and next thing you know you're looking up Robin Williams' hospital gown because you just can't help yourself when it's so damn easy. You just forget about priorities at all, because everything is so easy to get. Just a click. Weird. I still haven't adjusted to this. For somebody who's naturally curious about nearly everything, you end up like a sugar addict who's just had a five-pound sundae.

So anyway...thanks for posting!

Best...forum...post...ever.

Wow...I am humbled by praise. Thanks a million. And yet, with all the humility, still--where do I pick up the check for first place? Can I get cash instead?

reply

You'll get a cashier's check. Do you want to buy insurance on that cashier's check, in case it gets lost or stolen in the mail? It's only $25.

reply

Of course. Lemme see what credit card number I can come up with. May take a day or two--I think the trash guy just came by yesterday morning, so all the dumpsters are gonna be empty...

reply

Great! Well, with $5 shipping and the insurance, the sum will be $30. Now, just let me know the address you want me to ship the first place prize of $10 to. Of course, it'll get sent once you give me the CC number for the shipping and insurance.

How does it feel to be a winner?

reply

It feels...really late, since I missed this reply back when you did it. (I'm still trying to figure out why we get email notices from IMDB sometimes and not others.)

reply

Oh, wow. Blast from the past! :) Thanks for calling me back to this thread. Seems like everyone already left, though.

Maybe there's some champagne left over before the catering company clears the tables.

reply

Ah. I see you've been in that situation before too. ;-)

Actually, I myself was called back here because somebody else posted (further down in the thread).

reply

Believe it or not, straight women and gay men use the internet too! And, some of us get turned off by reading lots of posts about women's bodies, on lots of forums. So, join the club!! lol.

I actually feel relieved to see a post about a man for once!!!

Anything I could have said I felt somehow that you already knew

life story much?

I know I'm nearly five years late on this post, but did it ever make me laugh!

I've known about this flash scene since I was a little kid and wondering "did I just see what I think I saw?!?" but since then I've never, ever seen it circulated on social media.

But I will admit that every once in a while, over the course of the last 32 years I've wondered, "why on earth wasn't he wearing underwear in that scene? It wasn't necessary to be free-balling at all given the camera angle."

I mean, it isn't an overwhelming thought or anything, but it has popped into my mind from time to time.

Thanks for the 5-year delayed laugh, though.

reply

Yeah, it's weird what these comment lists do to the idea of conversation at a specific time. Like they're always just sort of suspended in time, ready to pick up again -- and some of us do, obviously.

As to free-balling, well...I mean, who needs a reason, right?

robin williams hangs dong in this?!!!
