How did this not get an Oscar nomination?

Oh, wait. I've got it. Because it was utter *beep* that's why!

I watched this years ago, probably more or less around the time it came out (not in the cinema though), and was surprised that I could remember almost nothing about it, except that it had Richard Pryor in it and he made some money out of the half cents. Beyond that, nothing. So when it was on the telly again this week, I thought I'd refresh my memory. And the reason I can't remember anything is because I must have tried to block it from my memories, to excise it from my store of experiences.

It really is just about one of the most lamentable films I've seen - the only reason I gave it 2 stars was because I quite like Richard Pryor. Appalling script, dreadful acting, lame effects (even given the time it was made), daft concept...
