Lana vs. Lois
It's a shame Lana mysteriously disappeared by Superman IV (another of the major problems with that final movie). I would have liked to see more of her. She was much prettier than Lois (although Annette O'Toole hasn't aged well in the years since thanks to her heavy smoking). But more than that, after seeing Lana, you have to wonder what the heck Clark sees in Lois. Lois always treated Clark like dirt, especially the way she would put him down in public, and it was obvious she was only interested in Superman. Lana showed real affection for Clark, like telling him she felt like she could talk to him and that he's the best. She was so sweet, saying she didn't want to be a nuisance to him. Lois was always a nuisance and she didn't care because she was completely self-centered and focused on her career. Clark took secret pleasure that Lois was interested in his alter ego, but it wouldn't have made any difference to Lana if he wasn't Superman. Lana was obviously completely into Clark since she didn't show any romantic interest in Superman after his Smallville ceremony and lunch. Between the two of them, who in his right mind would choose Lois?
