about Clark and evil Superman

Just a thing here i know we all seen him be bad and what happened to him but how did Clark get out of his evil self it seemed like in the planet or something Clark was some how trapped in him self because we see evil superman acting al like trying to hold clark back or something is there any deleted scene that explains that or what?
