Startlingly relevant in 2015?

Gay guy (somewhat swishy, but I'm not criticizing him for being the kind of gay guy he wants to be, I'm just saying that's the "category" one could say he fits within), a black guy operating on the down low (again, not a criticism of him for doing that), an uptight white guy possibly with some homo leanings and possibly some homophobic feelings as well (my interpretation, for what it's worth), and a more-or-less typical black guy who almost got killed for being the same race as Carlyle.

Don't ask, don't tell has been over with for four years. That's great, soldiers are probably getting used to working/living with gay soldiers, and white soldiers are probably getting more-and-more used to working/living with black soldiers, but don't tell me problems (and murders) don't still happen from time.
