Low budget, no special effects, and more plot holes than a cohesive story.
As the motel owner said....."You shouldn't have brought the dog."
And you ought to skip watching this dog.
The special effects were good, especially considering its time.

Yeah,there's nothing special about this movie,I think its the 1950s special effects that makes the film worse than it really is.
shareMaybe the OP was written by a younger person who is more accustomed to today's CGI-overloaded movies. I thought this was great, considering it came out in '83. Practical effects are superior in my opinion, and will always look more believable than CGI. As far as the cheesiness goes, that's part of the charm in movies like this. It's just a fun genre. I'll take it over Spielberg's 'War of the Worlds' any day.
shareI'm old enough to be ahuge fan of movies from the 50's and even earlier. I'm a huge fan of sci-fi and I enjoy a "good" B-movie. But this thing which I first saw decades ago and recently saw again, does absolutely nothing for me. I agree with the OP. This is a really a lazy effort all around. I do like Nancy Allen though.
