Strange Invaders(1983)is a superb tribute to Fifties Science -Fiction.
Plus Beautiful Nancy Allen gives a Great performance as a female head of a

Totally agree that this movie did a great job at epitomizing the classic 50's Sci-fi flicks. Great action and story line.

I agree with you too, people who don't like it, don't understand what the film makers were trying to do. And are probably too young to remember the movies this film pays tribute to.

Yeah I love those 50's cheesy Sci Fi and this is certainly a homage

Just saw it for the first time ever. I really enjoyed this great Halloween treat.

It was surprising to see so many great actors -- Paul LeMat, Nancy Allen, Diana Scarwid, Louise Fletcher, Wallace Shawn, June Lockhart, and Charles Lane. Several of the Strange Invaders actors were also in Strange Behavior, made a couple of years earlier. Strange Behavior was also directed by Michael Laughlin and by Bill Condon & Michael Laughlin.

When Michael Lerner's character (Willie Collins) was first mentioned, I thought someone said Wilkie Collins. June Lockhart always had the best mother roles. It was great to see Charles Lane as Professor Hollister -- the man does not age. Loved Fiona Lewis as the Avon Lady. Does anyone remember Avon Ladies?

I don't think it was a tribute. It was an early 80's science fiction movie. Have you seen Starman? That was from that era. It's my era mind you but the state of many things cimematic has improved so much since then. If it was a tribute you would have heard a theramin, which we didn't. We would have seen flying saucers attacking things, which we didn't. We would have seen mass panic being broadcast on TV and radio, which of course we didn't. So personally I don't think this was a tribute to 50's science fiction. Having opening scenes set in 1958 is obviously reminicent of the 50's but not really an homage. Have you looked at The Terminator lately? It's got exactly the same feel as this movie and Starman. It's the era of cinema at that time, I don't think they were trying to make it a tribute to 50's Sci-Fi.

fluff I think they mean certain ref were made like how they ran and said things before Aliens would get them etc, saying that Back to the future was filmed part in 84 and so was
The Philadelphia Experiment , Indiana Jones+Temple of Doom, and yet the cinematic structure still all holds up so don't get your point
