Looking for an old Sci-Fi movie.

I am looking for a movie I saw when I was a kid on TV in the 80's. It was a sci-fi film and all I remember was these people in these Egg-like pods hooked up to tubes. Some good guys were wrecking the pods and unhooking the people from tubes and blood and stuff was spewing everywhere. It was very campy. Is Strange Invaders the movie I am looking for? Or can someone else point me in the right direction?

Might be thinking of a film called Coma. Based on a popular novel (Chrichton?). Not very good but has some scenes similar to what you describe.
