The canadian eh

for those who are wondering, canadians say "Eh" as americans would say "huh"

pretty good food eh?
pretty good food huh?

reply

That's a common misconception around the world. Canadians add "eh" to the end of every sentence. I just have this to say about it....

"WE DO NOT, EH?!"

Yeah, it used to be called CND, but they kept saying, "C eh, N eh, D eh" so they changed it.

reply

Right. The real difference is that in America we don't obsessively end virtually every statement that leaves our mouths with "huh."

reply

But we do end every sentence with "You know!"

reply

Oh and I suppose you think you got me there, huh.

...d'oh!
