Love this movie...

This movie is in my top 5 of all time favorite movies. I've watched it at least 100 times, and am looking forward to 100 more!

I'd love to know what the cast has been up too!

Yeah they don't make'em like that anymore. Ofcourse it's no masterpiece by any means, but it's just a fun movie

It's way up there for me, too. I worked in a radio station in Stevens Point, WI when this came out and the staff got into every movie theater in town for free. I went to see this one over a dozen times. I bought it on VHS when it first came out, but it was destroyed in a move (another town, another station). I still have a bootleg copy (off HBO, probably), but I'm dying to see it on DVD. Like you, Laura, I loved the cast of this movie and would like to know what they're up to now. I know Perry Lang is directing TV shows, but that's about it. I'd love if they put this out in a Delux Edition, complete with outtakes, a tour of Fort Lauderdale locations, cast updates (including, maybe, interviews of some of the extras like "Gut Gut," and the club DJ who hosted the wet T-shirt contest), and a documentary on spring breaks throughout the years. I know the DVD would make money, so I'm wondering what the hold-up has been. Who do we write to to make this happen. Hell, if "Last House on the Left" (produced by Sean S. Cunningham) is out, why not "Spring Break?"

It is not in my top 5 all time (or even top 100), and I have not seen it 100 times. I did, however, see it two or three times in summer, 1984 on our VCR. I was 16 then, between 10th and 11th grade, and I do remember when it came out in theaters, in March, 1983 (I was 15 and in 9th grade-four years before I'd experience "spring break"). But I did like it, and thought it gave a very good account of the way spring break really was in Fort Lauderdale from the 1960s until the mid/late 1980s. And this week is a little nostolgic for me, because it was 20 years ago this week (from Friday, March 6 to Sunday, March 15, 1987) that I had my first spring break, as a college freshman. I did not go to Ft. Lauderdale for it, I simply came home that week and did normal things there. But I had been aware of this huge college tradition since the early 1980s, and it was interesting to be a part of it then (even in this unrelated way). And I'm in Aventura and Sunny Isles Beach, FL now, in north Dade County, just south of Ft. Lauderdale, and I might try to walk up there one day this week-hey, I would make it, even if it was 20 years later! Ft. Lauderdale did try to abandon its spring break reputation in the late 1980s, and it is mostly gone now, and I think very few college students come there for this now. So this movie, and any trip to Ft. Lauderdale this month, will seem a little dated I guess, but should still be good.

This title has been on my DVD "want list" for years. Fortunately, I have an off-TV recorded version but I still hope (and pray) that someday it will be released on DVD.

Here it is almost a year later and still no word about a DVD release!
Maybe I'll find it listed to be on a movie channel and make myself a DVD copy>
Wish me (and all the other fans) good luck!

I mean this was a great movie and should be on DVD already by now! Why have they not put it on DVD yet? This movie kicked butt! It was a great movie showing what use to happen at one time before people changed things and took away the fun for future generations. I remember when I was getting into college how much I wanted to go on Spring Break to party and all.

I was young but remember having a couple of babysitters who went to Spring Break. They did not tell me any wild stories but seeing things like this really makes you want to get out there and party you know. Loved the women in this as well!

Corinne Alphen is now a certified professional tarrot card reader and Sheila Kennedy was recently featured on the ninth season of the reality TV series "Big Brother." In a nice coincidence, both Corinne and Sheila are former "Penthouse" Pets. And yeah this film is a total giddy blast from the way bitchin' 80's past.

talking to a co worker. We got into a conversation about bad movies that we liked. Turns out she went to school with Sheila Kennedy.

And I now have my own personal copy of the movie.

Yes this was a great movie to watch and there is no way that they could recreate a movie like this either! Ultimate classic to watch from the 80's!

Just when I think I've long since seen all the best of the 'Great 1980s Teen Sex Comedies' along comes another gem like this and surprises me. When I fist saw 'Spring Break' in a Tv guide the other day, I thought it was probably something from the last 10 years or so. But when I found out it was made in 1983, I started watching it and quickly realised I had never seen it before. As the reviewer said, it might just be the "Holy Grail" of 1980s Sex Comedies.
