Just seen this again after 20 years ....

..... and it still hasn't lost any of its ability to shock.

In fact, it seems more relevant now than it did when it was first released.

I'm in the same boat, mate. I saw this when it aired in New Zealand in 1988, and just this minute finished watching it for the second time. Freaky stuff.

I'm watching it on Google Video now. I well remember the first New Zealand screening ... I was genuinely shocked when the bomb went off. "Sledge Hammer" was big at the time, so I was surprised I didn't recognise David Rasche as one of the terrorists until I saw his name in the closing credits.

This one freaked me out a LOT when I watched it as a teen in the 80s.

Sometimes, just to make something basically realistic is far, far more terrifying than blood or guts.

I know how you feel.
I come home from the pub pissed up 25 years ago.
Put the telly on, about to have my curry and this was on.
We only (uk) had 4 channels then, no internet.
I thought it was real
Shocked the life out of me.
Brilliant
