Why can't we have tv dramas like this now?

This was 1st-rate. Just saw it for the 1st time and aside from a few anachronisms (army uniforms, phones, big 80s hair on the hot reporter LOL) it holds up well. The whole thing was riveting, tense and getting panicky at the right moments, & when the shock comes, it loox exactly how u think it would. I kept laughing at the surprise faces popping up (David Rasche from 'Sledge Hammer', Ken Tigar, even Michael Madsen), but that & the anachronisms were pretty much the only thing that gave away we weren't watching a real newscast. It looked like someone at the production company thought, 'what would a movie about a nuke emergency look like if Rod Serling was in charge?' - any higher praise, I can't think of. Great performances especially by Ed Flanders & the woman anchor, and the terrorists. If only there were production talent like this now.

I agree, I remember this from when I was a kid and it was really scary.

because there are not enough "Safe Spaces" for all the moronic College Students that will believe it's real despite all the warning messages during commercial breaks.

Then out of their own embarrassment, they'll sue the studios for pain and emotional suffering.
