Film was popular at the Toronto film faire in 1983

The reviews were generally good with the serpent's special effects being seen as groundbreaking & ahead of its time for such a low-budget film. Also it was the first time makeup effects had been used to show the body bloating & contorting after the snake attack.

It seems like this film had an extremely limited release and very little publicity, because I had never heard of it until I found it at a street sale for a buck. Did this even play in U.S. theaters or on TV? It's not a great film by any means, but it certainly doesn't deserve its low rating here.

It was filmed in Canada. It didn't get released to theatres in the U.S.
