James Horner FILM SCORE

Wasn't James Horner's score for 'Battle Beyond the Stars' recycled for this picture?

Just curious. Thanks.

Battle Beyond the Stars and Space Raiders were both made by the same company. Space Raiders re-used the score and special effects footage from the first film. I guess this was to save money and make a great little film in a very cheap way.

I saw Space Raiders first when I was a kid. So as far as I knew, I was watching a whole film made from start to finish, not made up of bits and pieces from another film.

James Horner must have needed to get a couple of mortgage payments in when he agreed to do this film. It's so obvious that James Horner ripped off every major sci-fi film (including his own Star Trek II score!) to lift this low budget mess up to some kind of respectability. James Horner must have been ashamed of himself !

You call yourself filmbuff. Not much of one if you didn't realise the film score was simply stolen from two of Horner's previous scores and probably not with his permission as the rights of the score probably sat with Corman's production company. The scores from Battle Betond the Stars and Humanoids from the Deep were both written before Wrath of Khan so if anything, Horner stole from these low budget films for the Khan score.
